CONCEPT

This site has been launched to give an impression of my thoughts on design and the way I work by showing a selection of concepts, products and projects I have developped since I started working as an independent designer in 1992.

My goal has allways been to keep the design close to the designer, in order to reach a personal and recognizable product, wether unique or mass-produced.
Knowledge of material, production, or any other aspect that has influence on the products appearance and function is essential, and has often been the key to a good concept.
I have chosen to gain this knowledge by trial and error. In effect I have concepted, designed, produced, exhibited, marketed and distributed products myself in order to comprehend the complete route from an idea to a product, and therefore increase my effectiveness and quality as a designer.
I see this process as self-education through practice. Moreover, it's fun!

Having reached the point where I can say I succesfully developped several interior products that contributed to and influenced the national and perhaps international interior design by controlling the complete design and production process, and feeling confident about my experience and knowledge as a designer, I stopped producing myself and am now working with national and international producers to get my thoughts materialized.

Besides being an informative platform this site is in fact an invitation towards potential partners, interested in developping interior products or projects with me..
